Welcome To Rotary Club Of Victoria Island

Rotary Club of VI consists of business and professional men and women devoted in service to humanity using their Time, Talent, Treasure and Thought.

The club held its first or inaugural meeting in 1981 at the residence of Chief J. M. ST. MATHEW DANIEL, 856 ABOYADE COLE STREET, VICTORIA ISLAND.

Thereafter the weekly meetings of the club were held in EKO HOTEL, ADETOKUNBOH ADEMOLA STRETT, VICTORIA ISLAND. The meeting venue moved to Federal Palace Hotel in July, 1989. Much later the meeting venue moved to the present location, LAGOS MOTOR BOAT CLUB, AWOLOWO ROAD, SW IKOYI.

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

First: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service

Second: High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

Third: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life;

Fourth: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
